Grenadier march was a dish that was in her family served on Monday with salad or roast from Sunday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>[one_third]<\/p>\n<h4>For the dumplings:<\/h4>\n<p>120 g (4.2 oz) plain flour<br \/>\n\u00bc teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n150 ml (5.1 fl oz) lukewarm water<\/p>\n<h4>For the potatoes:<\/h4>\n<p>500 g (17.5 oz) potatoes<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n8-10 tablespoons oil<\/p>\n<h4>For the onions:<\/h4>\n<p>2 small onions<br \/>\n3 tablespoons oil<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Conversion Calculator for Cooking\" href=\"http:\/\/southernfood.about.com\/library\/info\/blconv.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Conversion Calculator for Cooking<\/a><br \/>\n[\/one_third]<br \/>\n[two_third_last]<\/p>\n<h4>Preparation<\/h4>\n<p>Mix flour with baking powder and salt. Mix the ingredients well, gradually adding the water, then beat them with wooden spoon until you get a smooth dough. Leave to rest for about 30 minutes.<br \/>\nPreheat the greater amount of salted water. Form the dumplings with a spoon and put them in boiling water. Cook for 10 minutes over low heat, then drain.<\/p>\n<p>Peel the potatoes and cut into cubes. Boil them in salted water. Mash them into a puree and gradually, stirring constantly, add the oil to get a smooth mixture.<\/p>\n<p>Clean onions and finely chop. Saut\u00e9 it in oil until brownish color, stirring constantly so it does not burn.<\/p>\n<p>Stir the dumplings into the mashed potatoes, together with the onions and saut\u00e9 them briefly over low heat.<br \/>\n[\/two_third_last]<\/p>\n<p><b>Serving<br \/>\n<\/b>Serve the Grenadier march with green lettuce salad.<\/p>\n<p><b>Preparation time<br \/>\n<\/b>60 minutes<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My dear friend Nena shared her grandma&#8217;s recipe with me.
