Fine, crisp and aromatic batter reveals a soft fruity middle. They are best eaten warm. Instead of using this batter, you can use thicker pancake batter.<!--more--><br \/>\n[one_third]<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>1 kg (2.20 lb) apples<br \/>\noil for frying<\/p>\n<h4>For the batter:<\/h4>\n<p>2 eggs<br \/>\n100 g (3.50 oz) sugar<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n2 tablespoons rum<br \/>\n200 g (7 oz) rough flour<br \/>\n250 ml (8.5 fl oz)\u00a0 milk<\/p>\n<h4>For sprinkling:<\/h4>\n<p>powder sugar<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Conversion Calculator for Cooking\" href=\"http:\/\/southernfood.about.com\/library\/info\/blconv.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Conversion Calculator for Cooking<\/a><br \/>\n[\/one_third]<br \/>\n[two_third_last]<\/p>\n<h4>Preparation<\/h4>\n<p>Peel the apples, cut out the middle and then cut them into round slices.<\/p>\n<p>Separate the yolks from the whites. Mix egg yolks with the sugar, salt and rum until forthy. Then add flour and milk. Finally gently fold the beaten egg whites that you added a bit of salt.<\/p>\n<p>Dip the apple slices in the prepared batter and fry them on both sides on a well-heated oil.
