The term &#8216;kalapajsati&#8217; is derived from &#8216;pajsati&#8217; which means stewing, and &#8216;kalamper&#8217; is a term used in Me\u0111imurje for potato. Enriched with onions and ground paprika it makes a delicious side-dish to roasted meat.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->[one_third]<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<p>1 kg (2.2 lb) potatoes<br \/>\n2 bigger onions<br \/>\n1 tablespoon lard (50 g\/1.75 oz)<br \/>\n1 tablespoon salt<br \/>\n500-600 ml (17-20 fl oz) water<br \/>\n1 tablespoon red ground paprika<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Conversion Calculator for Cooking\" href=\"http:\/\/southernfood.about.com\/library\/info\/blconv.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conversion Calculator for Cooking<\/a><br \/>\n[\/one_third]<br \/>\n[two_third_last]<\/p>\n<h4>Preparation<\/h4>\n<p>Peel the potato and cut into bigger cubes. Peel and dice the onions.<\/p>\n<p>Heat the lard and saut\u00e9 onions for 2-3 minutes. Add potatoes and saut\u00e9 for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pour 200 ml (6.8 fl oz) water.
